Android Auto – GPS Speedometer with Virtual VMS and GLOSA
As a enabler for research around IVS and GLOSA KL Systems has developed a cloud based IVS system which is operational supporting a number of projects.
A number of versions of the system are deployed to address specific applications including research applications and an exploratory public deployment.
The system supports both the manual creation of Virtual VMS together with ingestion of existing VMS data from multiple sources, the management of data in a cloud based hub and the dissemination in–vehicle using several different apps targeted at different use cases.
A Cell like multi Hub architecture is envisaged across the UK, solution is broadcast only no information is transferred from car to Hub.
Current KL Systems deployment has default test Hub covering the UK and the rest of the world with Specific (project) Hubs for Oxford, Bristol and Manchester
The car apps connect to the Hub for the area a vehicle is in and move from Hub to Hub as a vehicle transverses the country, operation in the app is automatic.
HE sign near Manchester ingested via the HE DATEX 2 feed with the location visualised in Map, Satellite and Streetview.
Virtual VMS created using the GUI in Oxford, VMS quickly created and in vehicle sub second.
