GEORGE BROWN

A science graduate from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne who had a career in the oil industry as a Surveyor and positioning specialist before focusing on systems engineering and getting involved in the early rumblings of ITS in the early 1990’s.

In a long career with one of the major providers of ITS systems in UK led the design and development of National traffic management systems in the UK and across the world. For many years held the position of technical and design authority for Traffic Scotland systems as part of the contractor team that that deployed and maintained those systems.

An expert on Traffic Management Systems , particularly motorway management including Incident Management, Rules based responses to Incidents and traffic conditions. An advocate for connected cars as the future of ITS, connecting the control centre directly to the car.

In 2019 created KL Systems an ITS consultancy and System Engineering company, providing a mix of services from systems design, technical support and bid writing, ITS research and provision of ITS systems.

As a key element of KL Systems roadmap created an immersive National In-vehicle signage ecosystem to support and enable connected car research.
