KL Systems provided the technology and systems to provide in-vehicle signage and car tracking for three vehicles taking part in the 2021 London to Brighton Veteran car Run.
The project was a technology pathfinder to demonstrate the value of connected technology providing on-route guidance and alerts together with feeding back car locations to the organisers of the run. The work was sponsored by the RAC Foundation and the Traffic Technology forum. It was led by Andy Graham of White Willow consulting with KL Systems and Eloy providing connected technology. The three cars equipped in the pathfinder were veteran cars owned by the RAC itself.
KL Systems provided a customised version of its service supporting IVS including a GUI that allowed both Virtual VMS to be created and managed, the location of cars to be monitored in real time plus a two way messaging capability from the control centre to cars together with a smartphone app for use in the cars to support delivery of information in the car and tracking on-route.
The system worked perfectly on the day tracking the cars and providing Virtual Signage on the whole route.
